Top 10 Things To Do
On Outer Cape Cod
1
Whale Watching
If you've never been or it has been a while, you owe it to yourself to visit with these majestic mammals of the deep. Their enormous size and playful antics will leave you in awe.
2
Sand Sea and Sky
Enjoy a beach walk. Since the Cape Cod Canal was dug, we have, technically, been an island surrounded by water: Atlantic Ocean, Cape Cod Bay, Nantucket Sound, Buzzards Bay and the Canal. Walk the same beach that Henry David Thoreau walked in the 1800's as he was doing research before he penned "Cape Cod"  You'll develop the same appreciation he had of our scenic vistas.
3
Art Appreciation
Wellfleet is known locally as "The Art Gallery Town" and has many wonderful galleries for all tastes.  Many galleries have opening receptions on the weekends with wine and cheese.
4
Watch a double feature in your car
The Wellfleet Drive-In Movie Theater is a throwback to the 50's and 60's and even though the films are current, the ambiance is strictly nostalgia.  Car speakers or listen to the movie through your car radio!
5
Kayaking, Cycling and Hiking
Explore the ocean and bay shores from the seat of a kayak, or enjoy the Cape Cod Rail Trail from your bicycle seat. Hike the many spectacular trails on Great Island, White Cedar Swamp, and other trails in the National Seashore.
6
Do something fishy
Whether you cast from the shore, drop a line off the town pier, charter a boat or rent your own, there are few eating pleasures quite like barbecued or grilled fish that you caught that day.
7
Pond Swim
Warm, pristine, fresh water ponds with docks to swim out to. Gull Pond even has boats in the water to rent!
8
A Day trip to one of the Islands
Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket are great places to visit.  Ferry boats leave Harwichport, Hyannis and Woods Hole.  It's a long, full day but it's worth it.
9
Go Golfing
With a 9-hole course overlooking Wellfleet harbor, an 18 hole course by the Cape Cod Lighthouse in Truro and a Nicklaus Designed course in Brewster you will be sure to find the time for tee-time.
10
Do Nothing
Cape Cod is a place to do everything or nothing - and we really mean nothing.  Do morning yoga on your roof deck, read a romance novel, time your deep breaths to the rhythm of the ocean waves and don't forget the regenerative qualities of afternoon naps.

"The rooftop deck was the perfect place to do my morning yoga.  Norman, our dog, just loved running on the beach.  When it was time to go home, he hid under the bed because he didn't want to leave!  We'll just have to come back.....for Norman's sake....and mine too!"

"Thanks for a lovely, quiet week-end away from  computers, TV and even clocks. The whale-watch was amazing and I'm already missing my morning walks on the beach watching the seals offshore.  Hope to be back again soon."

"Geographically, the cottage was as convenient as it was comfortable. Walk five minutes and we were ankle-deep in the Atlantic. We were a 15-minute stroll to a small but handy commercial complex with a Post Office, farmer's market, liquor store, and amply stocked general store with Wi-Fi. For those contemplating a fall visit, the store sells wood for the cottage fireplace. There's also a gas heater in the living room. The center of Wellfleet with its array of merchants is about 10 minutes away by car."
